The village of Stromboli is located in the eastern part of the island, it consists of the typical white houses climbing partly flows along the coasts of the sea and partly through the thick vegetation.

The island's beaches are of black sand and in the south / south-east, while the portion to the north is characterized by many small bays that give the feeling of many small private beaches.

The amplitude of the beaches located in the south / south-east has meant that in the past Stromboli could host a major merchant fleet of sailing ships and tartare used for local trade merchandise (wine, capers, etc.) along large part of the Mediterranean basin .
